The BMAA is the national body for microlight flying in the United Kingdom. Air Courtage Assurances has built a dedicated insurance scheme around its members, bringing specialist aviation underwriting together with a straightforward, pilot focused approach to cover. BMAA Statutory Activities. Excludes commercial carriage, paid cargo and charter.

Limit auto-rises to £5m (Goodwood, cambridge, Elstree) and £7.5m (Duxford).
Premium & tax
Annual flat premium. UK Insurance Premium Tax at 12%.

Frequently asked questions

Cover in four steps

Current BMAA members. F1 and F2 cover the individual pilot; F3 covers a syndicate, club or partnership where all named pilots are members.

What does the cover include ?

Legal liability cover. F1 single-seat, F2 two-seat up to 600 kg, F3 aircraft-attached for groups. Damage to the aircraft you fly is not covered.

Where am I covered ?

Geographical Europe (LSW617J), plus BMAA-recognised events outside Europe. Wider territory can be requested at additional premium.

Can I raise my liability limit ?

Yes. Add-on A2 raises the combined single limit to £5,000,000.

How quickly can I be covered ?

We hold delegated underwriting authority, so we quote, bind and issue your documents directly once we have your form.

Who underwrites it ?

AXA XL underwrites the scheme. Your policy and any claims are handled by Air Courtage Assurances.
